R152a is a colorless gas under ordinary temperature, and a colorless & transparent liquid under the pressure of itself, easily solube in oil but poorly in water. It is mainly used as the important raw material for refrigerants, aerosol propellants and synthesis of HCFC-142b. As the substitutive refrigerant for CFC-12, it will be a long-term one and have absolutely no bad effects against ozonosphere.

This colorless gas is used as a refrigerant, where it is often listed as R-152a or HFC-152a. As an alternative to chlorofluorocarbons, it has an ozone depletion potential of zero, a lower global warming potential (<150) and a shorter atmospheric lifetime (1.4 years). It has recently been approved for use in automobile applications as an alternative to R-134a. It dissolves in oil easily, but in water difficulty
