PRODUCT DETAILS

CrWMn is the most commonly used high carbon alloy tool steel for making molds. It has high hardenability. Since tungsten forms carbides, this steel has more excess carbides and higher hardness and wear resistance than chromium steel and 9SiCr steel after quenching and low-temperature tempering. It is mainly used for manufacturing cold extrusion dies with complex shapes, high accuracy, and low load.

1. Used for making cold stamping dies with small cross-section, complex shape, and high precision;

2. Can be used for making thin sheet stamping molds, decorative embossing molds, etc;

3. Used for overall hardening plastic molds;

4. Used for thermosetting plastic forming molds that require high wear resistance and strength;

5. It is commonly used for making cutting tools with small deformation and complex length and shape, such as broaches, long wire taps, long reamers, and specialized milling cutters.

It is used for concave dies, convex dies and insert dies in bending dies that require high wear resistance and have complex shapes.

It is used for concave dies and convex dies in cold extrusion dies for aluminum parts.

In the first step, the raw materials containing chromium, tungsten, and manganese are melted in a furnace. This is followed by refining, which involves removing impurities and adjusting the chemical composition of the molten metal to meet the desired specifications. The molten metal is then cast into ingots, which are forged to further refine the microstructure and improve the mechanical properties of the material.

After forging, the steel is heat-treated to achieve the desired hardness, toughness, and wear resistance. The heat treatment process involves heating the steel to a high temperature, followed by quenching in a suitable medium and tempering to reduce brittleness and improve toughness.

Finally, the CrWMn steel is finished by grinding, polishing, and coating to improve its surface quality and corrosion resistance.

One of the main advantages of it is its high hardness and wear resistance, which make it ideal for use in cutting tools, dies, and molds. Additionally, It has good toughness and can withstand high temperatures, making it suitable for high-speed machining and other demanding applications.
